Percussion player
Gerrit Nulens was born in 1972. He studied classical percussion with Robert Van Sice at the Rotterdam Conservatory where he obtained a Master Degree. He is a laureate of the Kranichsteiner Musikpreis for the interpretation of Contemporary Music (Darmstadt). Besides being a regular member of Ictus he worked with Champ d’Action, Spectra, Ensemble Musikfabrik and the London Philharmonia Orchestra. As a soloist he premiered works by James Wood, François Sarhan and Robyn Schulkowski. Under the label PME he is publishing contemporary music with an emphasis on music with/for percussion. His specialisation in drum-set, improvisation and the integration of new media in live-performance has led to performances in various interdisciplinary contexts.
Gerrit Nulens est né en 1972. Il a étudié avec Robert Van Sice au Conservatoire de Rotterdam où il a obtenu un Master Degree. Il est lauréat du prix Kranichsteiner du Festival de Darmstadt. Membre permanent d'Ictus, il a également collaboré avec les ensembles Champ d'Action, Spectra, Prometheus, le Bureau des Arts et l'orchestre londonien Philharmonia Orchestra. En qualité de soliste, il a créé des oeuvres de James Wood et de Robyn Schulkowski. Il dirige la maison d'édition PME, spécialisée en musique contemporaine, avec un accent sur le répertoire pour percussion.
