Jeroen Robbrecht

Jeroen Robbrecht (Belgium) studied at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with Mr. Georges Octors. There he achieved his Higher Diploma violin as well as several other prices.
Quickly afterwards he became first violinist at the chamber orchestra Sinfonia, the New Belgian Chamber orchestra and later on concertmaster with Prima La Musica.
It was only at a later period his love for the viola started. Ever since he enjoys with increasing pleasure the repertoire of the viola.
As a solo viola Jeroen plays in different ensembles and orchestras as Prometheus Ensemble, I Fiaminghi, The Flemish Radio Orchestra , Klangverwaltung (Munich), the Orquesta Pablo De Sarasate (Pamplona) and on many podia in Belgium as well as most European countries and Japan, the Bermuda Islands, United Emirates, Switzerland and Iceland.
As an interpreter of contemporary music, Jeroen plays as viola-solo with Ictus, Champs D’Action, Musique Nouvelle and Ensemble 21. As a soloist he performed at the Paleis voor Schone Kunsten, the Koningin Elsabethzaal, De Bijloke, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Franz Listz Hall and Schloss Herrenchiemsee.
Jeroen has an extended discography, as well in the classical repertoire (with Sinfonia, Prima la Musica, I Fiamminghi) as in contemporary music (with Quadro, Champ d’Action, Musique Nouvelle, Ictus).
Furthermore he is teaching violin and viola at the Music Academy of Beveren where he enthusiastically tries to pass on the passion for music to his pupils.

Quadro, Champ D’Action, Musique Nouvelle, Ictus).
