Born in Kalamazoo, Michigan USA in 1963. Studied horn with Neil Sanders, Johnny Pherigo and Francis Orval. Since 1991 has been Co-Principal Horn with the Liège Philharmonic Orchestra. Mr. Richards is also Principal Horn with the Ictus Ensemble, Brussels and a founding member of the Liège Horn Quartet.
As a member of the Liège Horn Quartet he has been a guest artist at two International Horn Society Symposiums in Banff, Canada 1998 and Kalamazoo, Michigan 2001. With the horn quartet he has made two recordings: "Esquisses" and "Modern Classics". He has given Master Classes on quartet playing
Mr. Richards has also given Master Classes and lessons at the IMEP School of Music Namur, Belgium. He is active as brass and woodwind quintet player and has arranged many pieces for brass quintet, brass ensemble and horn quartet.

Bruce Richards est né en 1963 à Kalamazoo, dans l’État américain du Michigan. Il a étudié le cor aux côtés de Neil Sanders, Johnny Pherigo et Francis Orval. Depuis 1991, il est corniste premier soliste pour l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Liège. Mais Bruce Richards est aussi premier cor au sein de l’Ensemble Ictus de Bruxelles, ainsi que l’un des membres fondateurs du Liège Horn Quartet.
En tant que membre de ce quartet, il a été l’invité spécial de deux symposiums de l’IHS (International Horn Society) : à Banff, au Canada, en 1998, et à Kalamazoo, dans le Michigan, en 2001. Il a par ailleurs réalisé deux enregistrements en compagnie du Horn Quartet, « Esquisses » et « Modern Classics », et a donné des master class sur l’interprétation de quatuor.
Bruce Richards a également dispensé des master class et des leçons à l’IMEP (Institut Supérieur de Musique et de Pédagogie), à Namur, en Belgique. Il joue au sein d’un quintette de cuivres et bois et a adapté de nombreux morceaux pour quintette de cuivres, ensemble de cuivres et quatuor de cors.
