The film paints a portrait of Georges-Elie Octors, who was the conductor and musical director of Ictus ensemble for 25 years. The son of a famous Belgian-Congolese conductor, he had to forge his own path through his father's legacy and his commitment to contemporary music. Numerous interviews, testimonials, and dialogues with his comrades reveal a particular style of leadership, linked to listening, negotiation, and the creation of collective action. Could music offer a certain key to unlocking a “politics of friendship”?

De film schetst een portret van Georges-Elie Octors, die 25 jaar lang dirigent en muzikaal directeur was van Ictus. Als zoon van een beroemde Belgisch-Congolese dirigent vond hij zijn eigen weg tussen de erfenis van zijn vader en zijn engagement voor de meest recente muziek. Aan de hand van interviews, getuigenissen en gesprekken met zijn partners in crime onthult de film een bijzondere manier van dirigeren, die vertrekt vanuit luisteren, in gesprek gaan en het creëren van een collectief gebaar. Kan muziek bepaalde sleutels aanreiken om te komen tot een 'politiek van vriendschap’?

Le film brosse le portrait de Georges-Elie Octors, qui a été chef d'orchestre et directeur musical de l'ensemble Ictus pendant 25 ans. Fils d'un célèbre chef d'orchestre belgo-congolais, il a dû tracer sa propre voie entre l'héritage de son père et son engagement dans la musique contemporaine. À travers des entretiens, des témoignages et des dialogues avec ses camarades, le film révèle une gestique particulière, connectée à l'écoute, à la négociation et à la production d'un geste collectif. La musique pourrait-elle offrir certaines clés pour penser une « politique de l'amitié » ?
