On the rainy and warm night of July 7, 1994, a woman of 44 years had a terrible accident.
The motorbike she was driving got out of the road and the woman was heavily injured when an object hurt her liver. She was instantly carried to the hospital in a coma. The man whom she loved more than anything in the world was next to her during the whole period she was hospitalized. A big, healthy man of 62 years. Every night this man would lie next to her on the hospital bed and would sleep with her. During these few hours, until the break of dawn, they would look as if they were both in a coma. The night nurses wouldn’t wake him up, the only thing they would do is to cover him with the white blanket.
This is the last conversation that took place between organs of the bodies of the man and the woman, as it was recorded by the medical equipment shortly before she finally died from internal hemorrhage on July 18,1994. The transcription of this last conversation was done by Efthimis Filippou. The parts of the internal organs of the two tragic lovers are interpreted by the musicians of the ICTUS ensemble, Tom Pauwels and Michael Schmid, by the composer and sound artist Angélica Castelló, by the actor Jean-Benoît Ugeux and by the actors and directors Angeliki Papoulia and Christos Passalis. The inner world of the LIVER is the product of the collaboration between the aforementioned artists and their different artistic fields.
Un terrible accident.
Puis, chaque nuit, ceci :
