PROGRAMME
Laure M. Hiendl: Chronochromatic Variations I (2024) for piano solo,
performed by Marina Delicado (from Ictus ensemble)
Die Morde (Cédric Dambrain and Yannick Franck)
Esther Coorevits: Bricolage for viola and electronics,
performed by Esther Coorevits (from Nemo Ensemble)
Co-produced by Les Nuits du Beau Tas, the now legendary Brussels alter-avant-garde festival, this concert will remain faithful to the triptych structure of our ‘Ictus Invites’ concerts in our studios in Forest.
PART 1.
Performed on piano by Marina Delicado, Chronochromatic Variations I explores the ambiguous zone between the notions of ‘variation’ and ‘montage’. "Passionate about digitization, acceleration, and demediatization,” Laure M. Hiendl writes music as if he were sculpting samples.
PART 2.
Die Morde quotes the Book of Revelation:
I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth.
Die Morde is a power electronics duo featuring Cédric Dambrain on electronics (Porz Am Park, Bambi OFS) and Yannick Franck on vocals (Raum, Orphan Swords, Figure Section). Their concerts are powerful experiences that bring noise and poetry to its most radical, direct expression: 'a description of life on earth through the eyes of a lucid, ironic and slightly schizophrenic street bum’.
PART 3.
Esther Coorevits is the violinist of the Nemø ensemble, the rising star among Flemish contemporary music groups . She is also a keyboardist, guitarist and bassist, and offers an atmospheric set for violin and loop machine.
