Annie Lavoisier, geboren te Reims, was de leerlinge van Brigitte Sylvestre (harpiste van Musique Vivante) en vervolgens van Francis Pierre (hapist van Domaine Musical van Pierre Boulez, die zich wijdde aan tal van creaties zoals de Sequenza II van L. Berio). Ze behoort tot de jongste harpisten van haar generatie die zich wijdden aan het hedendaagse repertoire. Haar deelname aan de 'Rencontres Internationales de Musique Contemporaine de La Rochelle' in 1977 was van doorslaggevend belang voor haar carrière. Vanuit haar interesse voor de nieuwe muzikale taal alsook voor de verschillende manier om het instrument de behandelen, stelt zij zich ten dienste van hedendaagse componisten.

Zij was laureate op de grote internationale festivals (Frankrijk 1980, Israël 1982 , Munich 1983 , Genève 1986 ), 3e Prijs op de internationale wedstrijd M.A Cazzala in Gargilesse (Frankrijk) in 1980 en Speciale Prijs voor de beste uitvoering van hedendaagse werk, 5e Prijs op de internationale wedstrijd van Israël en 1982 en Speciale Prijs voor beste uitvoering van hedendaagse werk.

Ze was tevens één van de laatste leerlingen van de grote Franse meester Pierre Jamet, die Clause Debussy heeft gekend.

Ze werd op de leeftijd van 20 jaar solo harpiste in het Nationaal Orkest van België en 2 jaar later in het Nationaal Orkest van Lille. In 1987 creëerde ze de klas voor Harp aan het Lemmensinstituut te Leuven. Sinds 1995 is ze lid van het Oxalys Ensemble. In België en in het buitenland is ze erin geslaagd minder bekende Kamermuziek voor harp te hore te brengen. In 1993 schreef ze en voerde ze de muziek uit voor een animatiefilm van Hans en Anna d'Eva Vysnei. Sinds 2005 doceert ze Harp en Methodologie aan het Conservatorium van Brussel.

Sa participation aux Rencontres Internationales de Musique Contemporaine de La Rochelle en 1977 orientera sa carrière d'une manière décisive. Outre l'intérêt qu'elle porte au nouveau langage musical, à la manière de traiter différemment l'instrument, elle se met fréquemment au service des compositeurs d'aujourd'hui.

Lauréate des grands concours internationaux (France 1980, Israel 1982 , Munich 1983 , Genève 1986 ), 3ème Prix du concours international M.A Cazzala à Gargilesse (France) en 1980 et Prix Spécial pour la meilleure interprétation de l'oeuvre contemporaine, 5ème Prix du concours international d'Israël en 1982 et Prix Spécial pour la meilleure interprétation de l'oeuvre contemporaine.

Elle est aussi une des dernières élèves du grand Maître français Pierre Jamet, interprète ayant connu Claude Debussy.

A 20 ans, elle est nommée harpe solo de l'Orchestre National de Belgique, 2 ans plus tard à l'Orchestre National de Lille. En 1987 elle crée la classe de Harpe au Lemmensinstituut de Leuven. Elle est membre de l'ensemble de musique de chambre Oxalys depuis 1995. Elle se produit dans les grands concertos du répertoire et a pu faire découvrir en Belgique et à l'étranger les oeuvres moins connues du répertoire de musique de chambre avec harpe. Parallèlement, elle a écrit et interprété en 1993 la musique du court métrage d'animation Hans et Anna d'Eva Vysnei. Depuis 2005, elle est professeur de harpe et de Méthodologie spécialisée pour l'agrégation au Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles.

Annie Lavoisier, who was born in Reims, was a pupil of Brigitte Sylvestre (harpist with Musique Vivante) then of Francis Pierre (harpist with Pierre Boulez' Domaine Musical and dedicatee of many pieces including Sequenza II by L. Bério). She was one of the youngest harpists of her generation to be initiated into the contemporary repertoire. Her participation in the La Rochelle International Contemporary Music Festival in 1977 decided the direction of her career. Besides her interest in new musical language and in different ways of using the instrument, she frequently works for contemporary composers.

She has seen success in the major international competitions (France 1980, Israel 1982, Munich 1983, Geneva 1986), having won third prize in the International Harp Competition in Gargilesse (France) in 1980 and a special prize for the best interpretation of contemporary music, and fifth prize at the International Harp Contest in Israel in 1982 and a special prize for the best interpretation of contemporary music.

She is also one of the last pupils of the great French master Pierre Jamet, who knew Claude Debussy.

At the age of 20, she was appointed harp soloist at the National Orchestra of Belgium, and two years later at the National Orchestra of Lille. In 1987, she started giving harp lessons at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven. She has been a member of chamber group Oxalys since 1995. She performs the great concertos and has also brought less well known works from the chamber music harp repertoire to audiences in Belgium and abroad. Alongside this work, in 1993 she wrote and performed the music for Hans et Anna, a short animation by Eva Vysnei. Since 2005 she has taught the harp and the specialist method at the Conservatoire Royal in Brussels.
