The result of a year of collective work, this evening of music and video is produced by the San Fedele Jesuit Cultural Centre in Milan, one of the most remarkable institutions of the city. This centre, which also practices popular medicine, organises silent cinema seasons, has a superb acousmonium with 40 loud speakers and a contemporary art gallery, works on art in prisons as well as publishing records and books.
On the theme of the ‘creation of the world’, which covers the institution’s entire season, young composers and young video makers collaborated on a partly premeditated evening, which gives centre stage to instantaneous invention. Acoustic instruments and sound and image processing examine the issue of representing the universe from its tiniest fragments.
The concert will be performed under the Approfondimenti e variazioni heading of the 2014 Milano Musica festival (Increased Understanding and Variations), dedicated to the works of Fausto Romitelli.

Deze muzikale videoavond is het resultaat van een jaar groepswerk en een productie van het jezuïtisch cultureel centrum San Fedele in Milaan, een van de opmerkelijkste instellingen van de stad. Dit centrum, dat ook geneeskunde voor het volk aanbiedt, organiseert cycli rond de stomme film, bezit een schitterend acousmonium van 40 luidsprekers, een hedendaagse kunstgalerie, werkt rond kunst in gevangenissen en brengt ook cd’s en boeken uit.
Het hele seizoen van de instelling draait dit jaar rond het thema “De schepping van de wereld”. Een aantal jonge componisten en videokunstenaars werden uitgenodigd om samen te werken rond een avond waarbij ook improvisatie een belangrijke onderdeel is. Akoestische instrumenten, klanken en beelden stellen vragen bij de representatie van het universum via een focus op de meest kleine fragmenten.
Het concert heeft plaats in het kader van de “Approfondimenti e Variazioni” (“Uitdiepingen en Variaties”) van het festival Milano Musica 2014, waarin het werk van Fausto Romitelli centraal staat.

Fruit d’une année de travail collectif, cette soirée musique-vidéo est produite par le centre culturel jésuite San Fedele à Milan, l’une des institutions culturelles les plus remarquables de la ville. Ce centre, qui pratique par ailleurs la médecine populaire, organise des cycles de cinéma muet, possède un superbe ascoumonium de 40 haut-parleurs et une galerie d’art contemporain, travaille l’art dans les prisons, publie disques et livres.
Sur le thème de la « création du monde », qui couvre toute la saison de San Fedele, jeunes compositeurs et jeunes vidéastes ont été amenés à collaborer à une soirée à demi préméditée, qui fera pourtant la part belle à l’invention instantanée. Instruments acoustiques, traitement du son et traitement de l’image interrogent la question de la représentation de l’univers à partir de ses plus infimes fragments.
Le concert sera donné dans le cadre des "Variations & Approfondissements" du festival Milano Mlusica 2014, dédié à l'oeuvre de Fausto Romitelli.
